Is The Anxiety In Your Life Setting Your Stomach On Fire |
By Aydan Corkern
What a fast paced, busy world we live in today. It can be hard to find a single moment for our selves to just relax. Even when and if we do get a chance for a short break, it can still be hard to put our thinking on hold even for a little bit. Pressing problems like family matters, bills, and our work can be a constant reminder of the pressure that we are always under. We try to make time for pleasure and sometimes we can go for weeks without feeling like we have had any time to wind down.
Usually we can cope with the stress of everyday life and all of its ins and outs, but sometimes for some of us it can be more than we can withstand. When things seem like they are all spinning out of control somehow and we can not find the solutions, it can affect us more than just mentally. The anxiety and stress can actually make you physically sick.
There are several ways that a hectic life can cause you to undergo physical
symptoms. For many people it can be insomnia. Sleepless nights can only add to the problem when you can not get the restorative rest that you need at night. Sometimes they can try over the counter sleep aids or even go get a prescription from their doctor and this might help for a while, but the body has a way of letting you know when something is wrong that is not being taken care of.
When the mind is overloaded with stress, it can also cause you to have eating disorders or other physical ailments such as heartburn. Some people only get this when they eat certain spicy foods, but when it is caused by stress, it can be because the stomach is producing too much of the natural acids that help break down and digest your food. This can cause the stomach to become irritated and sensitive so much of the time.
Over the counter antacids can be helpful just like sleep aids, but you must learn to treat the problem that is causing the insomnia or the stomach heartburn. This means that you will have to find a way to get a handle of the issues in your life that are causing the upset.
You might have to make some changes in your work if this is what your concern is. If it is family, you might need to get professional help to deal with these kinds of problems. Heart burn can become a serious situation if it is not cared for properly as soon as possible. It can damage the lining to the stomach and the esophagus over time. If you are experiencing heartburn, insomnia, or other physical ailments that you believe could be stress related, you should see your doctor as soon as possible so you can find a solution.
